Bit out of my comfort zone...

I tried to sponge...and distress...and well, I'm not a huge, huge fan of it if I am to tell the truth. Others can do it flawlessly and make it look sooo awesome! But me? Notsomuch. Mine just looks dirty. LOL!

And a little about how I do my cards. I wonder if I'm a little backwards but it works (mostly) for me. But anyway....I pick out the stamp and the papers I want to use...then i stamp and color it in. Then I decide how best I want to display my stamped image. (I stamp it on a way bigger piece of stamping CS than I intend to use...but this gives me flexibility.) Sometimes I just cut it out and don't use my Nestabilities...but most times I like to use my Nestabilities...mainly due to sheer laziness. hehe After I've cut out my image, THEN I'll decide on a sketch to use. If I don't have a list of sketches that are out there all ready for me to cut and paste my stuff to my card, then I will draw it out in a little notebook. You should SEE some of the ugliness in that notebook. LOL!! So there you have it. Backwards Jennifer stamps again. hee!

Last day to enter my blog candy! I'll be picking a winner tonight right before I post my card or project for tomorrow. You can find it >~~~here<~~~.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Oh I love Fluffles!

(Hah! Here is the card you SHOULD HAVE SEEN YESTERDAY...but I'm dumb and accidentally switched the dates when I was pre-writing them so I posted my Dutch Dare card early...scroll down if that is the reason you're here...hehe! )

I do, I just love this little fat kitty cat to bits and pieces! He always looks so put-out like everything always goes wrong for him. Makes me LOL when I see him. hehe!

What I used: Fluffles stamps, SU CS, ancient patterned paper from the beginning of time, Memento ink, Copic markers, perfect layer tool, glossy accents on the Christmas baubles.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Don't forget the blog candy....>~~HERE<~~ Hurry and enter...time is running out! :)

And I know....I'm 97 years behind in reading my favorite blogs....I'm gonna carve out some time later to read up and visit everyone. :)

Dutch Dare Card Challenge Time!

I missed it last week. But this week, I've got one for you!

This week, we were to use black, pink and purple. At first, I was unsure as to how I was going to make pink and purple look okay together. I mean, I know pink and purple CAN go together but I wasn't feeling it. Try your hand at the card challenge this week and see what sort of fun blog candy you could win. :)

But I chose this beautiful Basic Grey paper as my inspiration colors and it went together so easily from there! And if the black around the oval looks a little wonky, it is because I had to hand cut it since I don't have oval scallop Nestabilities (yet) and I had to use the largest one to cut out my image.

What I used: Hanna Stamps, Memento Ink, Copic markers, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, SU CS, Basic Grey PP (also used a bit to paper piece the present), Shimmerz Paints in Periwinkle, SU ribbon, and a ribbon slide.

Oh and don't forget to enter my blog candy for a $25 gift certificate to All That Scraps! ~~>CLICK HERE TO ENTER<~~ You can find that Basic Grey paper there as well as many Hanna Stamps. :)

28 October 2008

I'm hopeless.

I cannot pass up a cute snowman stamp! It just isn't going to happen! LOL!

Bad lighting in this photo, but I'm pressed for time tonight and the dog is barking at me to go to bed (spoiled brat!) So, I'm gonna make this short and sweet.

What I used: Scarf for Three from My Favorite Things, Memento ink, Copic markers, Shimmerz Paints (are you kidding me? how fabulously shimmery are these guys?!), Martha Stewart snowflake punch (seriously I'm so in love with this thing.), rhinestone brad, SU CS, Neenah cream colored stamping CS, DCWV mat pack stack, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Oh and don't forget to enter my blog candy for a $25 gift certificate to All That Scraps! ~~>CLICK HERE TO ENTER<~~ Just a few more days. I heard there were new stamp sets just released over there from Amy R. Might wanna go check them out! Everyone can enter!

You remember how I got that awesome RAK from Kelly and how I adored those Whiff of Joy stamps? Well, I liked them sooo much that I went and bought a whole mess of them! Whee!

I just loved this little angel girl. So sweet! And just easy as pie to color her!

What I used: SU CS, Neenah cream colored CS, Memento ink, Copic markers, Stickles, Prima flowers, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, stick on pearls, Basic Grey PP. And one of those wine glass charms.

Thanks for running by my blog today! :)

Oh how I love a good challenge...

and there seems to be soo many of them out there that I don't even begin to think I could do a tenth of them! BUT...I have a few I always try to complete. This is from the All That Scraps blog challenge. It was to use Bravo Burgundy (ew), Old Olive and Sahara Sand. Well, I haven't got any Sahara Sand so I used Kraft! My favorite go-to cardstock.

I used my Amy R. stamps from All That Scraps on this card to make a fashion forward card. :D And the little sash on the stamp BEGGED me to slit the image and poke ribbon through it to make it a 3-D sash. It did! It wouldn't let me make the card without doing that. hehe

What I used: Amy R. stamp from All That Scraps, SU CS, Basic Grey PP (I paper pieced the dress with a distressed solid of the Basic Grey and also stamped the purse and shoes directly on the PP and colored with Copic markers), Memento ink, Copic markers, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, ribbon and on the shoe, I added a bit of Glossy Accents to make it a shiny shoe. I added a little pearl to the purse for the catch and glued it all together. :D

Thanks for stopping by!

And please, don't forget to enter my blog candy for a $25 gift certificate to All That Scraps! ~~>CLICK HERE TO ENTER<~~ You could get your own AmyR. stamps there....and that Basic Grey paper...and Memento inks...and Copic markers...and Nestabilities...and a Cuttlebug...dood, they have like...everything!

25 October 2008

I gotta say...

when I saw the color combo for this week's Color Throwdown challenge on their blog...the use Ballet Blue, Green Galore and Creamy Caramel and a bit of Chocolate Chip, I was all YUCK! Running Away

But then I thought, welllll...I can try it I guess...I never use some of those colors so if I hate the card, I can just throw it away. hehe

But, I ended up not hating it. In fact, I kinda like it. And if you look REAAAAALLLLLYYYYY closely, you can see the Green Galore cardstock outlining the patterned paper. :D

What I used: SU CS, GP White, Memento ink, Copic markers, Pink Cat Studio stamp, DCWV PP, Shimmerz Paints in Celery, buttons and floss. I used a white gel pen to put on some faux stitching.

That's all folks! Thanks for stopping in!

But before you go, don't forget to enter my blog candy for a $25 gift certificate to All That Scraps! ~~>CLICK HERE TO ENTER<~~ They carry Pink Cat Studios stamps and Shimmerz Paints and I'm pretty sure Inkssentials white gel pens, too. :D

24 October 2008

I officially love...

these Sadie stamps. They are ADORABLE! And so fun and easy to color. I can image they'll be fun to paper piece, too but I'm kindly lazy today. LOL! You also get a Two-fer...a birthday and a Thanksgiving card in one post. I know...I've gone crazy with the posting....someone stop me. LOL

What I used: Happy Birthday Sadie, SU CS, Basic Grey PP, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Adirondack ink, Copic markers, Word Window punch, rhinestone brads and glossy accents on the balloons.

For this indian gal, I didn't use any patterned paper! I KNOW! What? You say. After I cuttlebugg'd the CS, I just couldn't cover it up with a goofy pattern so I just made the card without it. :D

What I used: Indian Sadie from All That Scraps, SU CS, stick on bead things, Word Window punch, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folders.

Sorry for the quick post...gotta run!

But don't forget to enter my blog candy for a $25 gift certificate to All That Scraps! ~~>CLICK HERE TO ENTER<~~

How about some blog candy?

I haven't done any in a while. How about a DOUBLE dose of blog candy? Dancing Banana 3

Well, some exciting news on the Shimmerz Paints blog! FIVE NEW colors which are a NEW product line! We received them last week and I can assure you that they are ever-so sparkley and lovely and you're just going to love them to bits and pieces!

Wanna know what you're playing for? Of course you do! How'za 'bout a $25 gift certificate to All That Scraps? They carry a full line of Shimmerz paints and lots of awesome stamps and papers and embellishments and other scrapbooking and stamping goodies. It is my favorite little store on the web. AND they offer free shipping (to the US) if you spend $25! I mean, I know *I* can spend $25 easily on paper and stamps and stuff.

Now, here is what you have to do....leave a comment on this entry. Then for an extra entry, post about it on your blog, linking my post. For an EXTRA entry, just hop on over to the Shimmerz Paints blog and tell them that Jennifer sent you.

That sounds easy enough, right? I'll leave this up for entries until October 31st when I'll draw a name and make the announcement on November 1st--the day of the Shimmerz Paints new release!

Happy Birthday to you...

well, if it is your birthday. It isn't mine. Mine is in January. :D

But when I saw these cute as a button stamps from Lilac City Designs, I knew that I had to have this one!

I went a little dotty on this. Sorry for all that. I love dots but I try not to over-do it. May have gone a little over here. hehe

What I used: It's Your Day from Lilac City Designs, SU CS, K&Co. PP, ribbon, Prima flowers, Making Memories brad, Shimmerz Paints, White gel pen, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping in...I appreciate it! :)

More new-ness...

I love buying new stamps. I am surprised at how many I've collected in the less than one year that I've been stamping.

But, ooooh weee...this image is just so gorgeous...even without coloring it, it is just stunning and could be used alone (I think) without coloring. But, I did color it because I love my Copic markers. LOL

So, I went to my LSS the other day and I found this lovely paper from Making Memories (Fa La La) and I usually don't buy the whole line especially when it is 12x12 sheets because I get bored with the paper before it is used up and by the time I go to use it again, it is out of vogue. ANYway....I ended up buying the brad combo pack and the glittery letters for this line. I didn't buy it all....but I might have been tempted if only I'd had a partner in crime there to enable me. LOL

What I used: Willow stamp from Whiff of Joy, SU CS, SU Shimmery White CS, Making Memories Fa La La PP, Basic Grey PP (the green distressed paper on the matting), Adirondack Pitch Black, Copic markers, Shimmerz Paints in Celery, Angel Wings and Burgundy, GORGEOUS red felt ribbon with green stitching, Prima flower, Making Memories glittered brad.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Whatcha cookin'?

Me? I don't cook. LOL That is my husband's job. I can cook, I just choose not to do so. :D

But I do love and adore aprons. I have a bunch of 'em, too. Vintage ones, kitschy ones, functional ones...all sorts. I dunno why, I just collect them. I have over 100. *gasp* I know. Addict, eh.

So, when I saw this Hanna stamp set (which y'all know I love me some Hanna stamps) I knew I had to have this one.

In fact, I've gotten a way-hay lot of new rubber (and clear stamps) today in the mail. So much that I don't even know where to begin! My stamp space is covered in new stampy goodness! Can't wait to go in there and play some more!

What I used: Hanna Stamps Kiss the Cook (I think is the name but I'm too lazy to go look), GP white CS, Adirondack ink, Copic markers, Basic Grey Urban Prairie (loooooooove OMW love it so much), pink craft ink (Versamagic?), clear embossing powder, pink gingham ribbon, CM heart shaped punch, some stick on pearls, Bazzill cardstock, SU cardstock, unknown but VERY shimmery white cardstock for the base, and a Martha Stewart edge punch. I also added a bit of Spica glitter pen on her dress and shoes to make her glamah-russ.

Anyway, thanks for stopping in today! Glad you could make it. Dancing Banana

20 October 2008

Well...duh.

I loved the saying on this stamp. hehe

I was going for kind of manly on this card...even though I added the ribbon. Ribbons can be manly, right? I just always associate turtles with men because my husband collects them...sort of. LOL

What I used: Inkadinkado clear stamp, SU CS, DCWV PP, Memento ink, Copic markers, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder, ribbon.

So that is it for now! I may have a little something cooking up behind the scenes. hehe. Stay tuned! :D

19 October 2008

Simply Pink

Oh how I love using pink for Christmas/Holiday cards! I'm TRYING to use less layers on my cards in an attempt to find one that I think I can reproduce and it look good so I can make my Christmas cards. No, I haven't started. LOL Not sure I care for this layout. Though it was quick and easy. I just think it needs an extra layer. heh

Been a busy day Saturday and it being close to midnight, I'm off to slumberland. *yawn* Doug and I had a fantastic day in San Francisco with my friend. I love going to the city even though I don't do it very often.

And isn't this a cute as can be stamp? Her name is Sadie which is my sister Sarah's nickname. I know...why does Sarah have a nickname? LOL I don't actually remember how she got that nickname...anyway...I had to have these stamps because they were just sooo cute and because of the name. :D

Anyway, hope y'all have a great Sunday! Thanks for stopping in today!

What I used: C.C. Designs Presents Stampin' Spot Studio Sadie Santa from All That Scraps, Memento ink, Copic markers, Stickles, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Fiskars Threading water punch, ribbon, SU CS, My Minds Eye PP, rhinestone brads.

17 October 2008

I finally made the pizza box.

Okay, yes, I know it was posted aaaages ago on SCS but hey, I'm not one to follow the trends, right? LOL Nah, it was just that I didn't have time to look at the tutorial and figure it out. So, since I'm having some days off from work, I decided to go ahead and make a go at it. It was really fun to do!

What I used: C.C. Designs stamp from All That Scraps, Bazzill paper, SU CS, Shimmery White CS, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Martha Stewart bat punch, Memento ink and Copic markers. I also sponged around the "moon" with some creamy caramel ink to give it a spookier effect.

Thanks for stopping in today! Hope you're having a great weekend! I'm off to "The City" (San Francisco) to meet up with a friend who is in town today.

Put on your sunglasses....

this is sort of a bright one. LOL! I just love using bright, bold colors. They make me happy. Okay, so the brown isn't a bright color, but the green and blue and orange sure are! :D

What I used: RAK'd image from Kelly, Copic markesr to color, Shimmerz paints on her angel wings, Prima flowers, SU CS, PP, ribbon.

Thanks for running by today!

Dutch Dare Card Challenge time!

sim

This week was a hard one for me. No patterned paper! WHAT?!? I literally groaned when I saw the challenge. LOL I know...I'm such a baby!

I tried the whole background stamp thing..wasn't doing it for me. I tried the Cuttlebug background...not working for me! So I went ahead and tried a scene card.

I got these new stamps from All That Scraps so I decided to use those to make a Christmas scene. A very familiar to me Christmas scene. hehe

See this picture? Doesn't it strike a resemblance to the one on the card? hehe! Yes, that picture is of me. Probably Christmas 1975? My mom would know better when it was. When I saw those stamps at All That Scraps, I knew EXACTLY how I would fashion the first pair of footie jammies. Like these!

Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget to click over to the Dutch Dare Card Challenges blog to get in on this week's challenge and blog candy!

What I used: C.C. Designs stamps from All That Scraps, SU CS, Memento ink, Copic markers. I paper pieced the outfit because I wanted it to have a bit of texture so I stamped the image on Yo-Yo Yellow, put some Versamark on my Linen Background stamp and stamped over it. I also used one of my Martha Stewart leaf punches (I don't have the cute one that looks like evergreen branches, so I used what I have...heh. I just love her punches....but I still need to find that other leaf one that I don't have), Shimmerz Paints were painted over the leaves to give it a bit of gleam as well as painted over the Christmas tree ornaments, added a few baubles and stuck it all down!

15 October 2008

How Now Brown Cow?

Meet Annabelle. Isn't she fab?! She's from a new stamp set I bought from All That Scraps. She's just the brown-est! LOL!

I did a quickie card for this one as I'm busy as a bee this week and not able to spend quality time with my stamps. hehe But I work today (Wednesday) and then I'm off work for four days. Whew. I really need it!

What I used: Annabelle, SU shimmery white, SU Close to Cocoa & Chocolate Chip. I paper pieced her with some DCWV PP and used the same paper for my PP layer. She is stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic markers and a bit of Shimmerz paints on her earrings, necklace and on the pearls in her handbag. I added a ribbon and some Prima flowers. I also added a bit of "lace" in the form of a Martha Stewart punch. For the sentiment, I stamped it with Adirondack ink and cut it out with my Word Window punch.

So, that is it! Thanks for stopping in today. Happy Wednesday! :D

14 October 2008

Aww...flowers?! Thank you!

Little Edwin..Isn't he adorable with his little flowers? He's probably been naughty and is trying to get back in your good graces or something. hehe

Another RAK'd image from Kelly. Are y'all sick of seeing these yet? I'm not and this is my blog and what I say goes. LOL!

I promise to have some new things later to share...maybe. :)

This is a sketch I found on the Friday Sketchers blog. What a fun sketch it was, too!

And look at those wings! They're sooo shimmery! I used Shimmerz paints on them. Of course! Little wings need to be shimmery. :D

What I used: Edwin from Magnolia Stamps, SU CS, can't remember who makes this patterned paper, colored with Copics and Shimmerz Paints, Prima flowers, ribbon, brad, bead spacer, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Perfect Layers tool.

Here is a close-up of the Shimmerz:

13 October 2008

Sorry for the bad photography...

but I've tried and tried to photograph this card and it always ends up wonky. Maybe I should have tried the point and shoot camera rather than the fancy DSLR one. LOL

What I used: RAK'd image from Kelly. Colored with Prisma and Koh-I-Noor pencils with OMS, the ornaments were colored with Copic markers and Spica glitter pens. The garland is textured with Flower Soft and the little charm is from my wine glass charms that I mentioned in a previous post. SU CS, MME PP, SU ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Monday!

12 October 2008

More fun with my RAK'd images

Y'all cannot possibly understand how much I LOOOOVE to get stamped images. Seriously, they're better than a whole mailbox full of stamps because I don't have to try to stamp out the images. I'm still not the best stamper. The black outliner pen is my favorite tool. LOL!

And can I say that I'm SO MUCH in love with these images? I'm gonna have to break down and buy the stamps. (Or I could ask for images on Wish RAK but it has been a long time since I requested anything over there.)

The sketch I used was from Jen del Muro's blog last week. Just getting around to posting it. hehe

What I used: RAK'd image, Copic markers, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, White gel pen, SU CS, DCWV PP and perfect layers tool. EASY PEASY LEMON SQUEEZY!

Later, y'all! Happy Sunday!!

11 October 2008

Having some fun coloring!

When Kelly sent me these images, I sat down almost immediately and started coloring. I just love, love coloring...always have!

What I used: RAK'd image from Kelly. Think it is High Hopes? Colored with Copic markers and Spica glitter pens. Also used Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, ribbon, white gel pen, beads and brads, and SU CS.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend! :)

10 October 2008

Final Card Challenge for WCMD!

Maybe. OH wait, no. I made another. I'll share that later. ;)

I used the CUTE CUTE sketch at the Little Paper Shop Blog. Oof. This was sooo fun! Loving the squares!

What I used: Stamped image sent to me from Kelly. It is from Whiff of Joy. TRIPLE LOVE these! She used Memento ink and one of three different papers...LOL! I colored the image with Copic markers and added some stickles to her hat and hand warming muff. SU CS, Basic Grey PP, white gel pen, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Perfect layers tool, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Scor-Pal.

(And let us all pretend like I stamped the word Merry straight, okay? Let us pretend that it isn't crooked as can be, okay? LOL!)

Thanks for stopping by!
