31 December 2008

Ooh so cold!

And wintry! Well, as much as it can be in California on the coast. LOL! It is really darn cold though! And so, here is a lovely challenge card using snowflakes but NO Christmas paper. Christine over at All That Scraps came up with this one.

I chose to make it a birthday card since my birthday is in January and it is always super-duper cold! (Well, except when I lived in Phoenix, AZ and I had a pool party at my apartment complex...LOL!)

I had to hand cut a mat for my blue-ish green-ish paper...took me three times but I finally got it where it looked okay. hehe

What I used: Snow Bunnies which are available in digital form at All That Scraps and rubber form! (I just loooooove the instant gratification I get from purchasing the digital images! hehe) SU CS, Memory Box PP, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, Memento ink, Copic markers, ribbon, wine glass charm, rhinestone snowflake, flat back half pearls and I put a bit of perfect pearls paint over top of the wine glass charm to make it more whiteish than silvery. I also used a few rhinestones on the sentiment from AmyR's Boutique Sentiments set that I cut out with my word window punch (I shortened it.)

Anyway, that is all I have for today! Stay tuned as tomorrow I'll have some previews for new stufff from All That Scraps!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Review Preview Friday- Gingersnaps

Ooh...my first review preview with ATS! :D

Anyway, Christine asked us to do a quickie preview with the Gingersnaps stamps...so I just had to use this cutie pie little girl.

ALL the C.C. Designs stamps at ATS are on sale 15% off until Sunday. Woot! Time for me to get the ones that I had missed getting before. :)

What I used: Gingersnaps-Snowbunnies from All That Scraps, SU CS, Memento ink, Copic markers, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, SU ribbon, metallic flake glitter, key tag punch, word window punch, CM decorative edge cutter, Memory Box PP.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday. :) Mine was hectic but good! I got an awesome digital video camera that records in HD! Can't wait to record something. LOL!! And I got some clothes and purses and all that boring stuff that I love to get. :D

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm happy it is the weekend and that Christmas is over and that means I have nothing to do except clean up some in the house and PLAY in my stamping room! Woooo!!!

18 December 2008

Quickly posting...

as I'm due to work in 10 minutes. LOL! I'm having no time to stamp or blog or anything probably until after Christmas....so don't look for too much from me until then. ;) But I finally got my High Hopes stamps and I really, really wanted to use my fishing one...so I whipped this one up last night in about 30 minutes using the cute sketch (SC207) from SCS. :)

8 minutes 'til I'm due at work.

What I used: High Hopes rubber stamp, SU CS, DCWV notecard, Basic Grey PP, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Memento ink, Colored with Copic markers, accented with white gel pen, perfect layers tool helped me get all my layers perfect without measuring and I glued it all down. I sponged the heck out of the image panel with some Distress ink.

Anyway, that is all I have for now.

5 minutes 'til I'm due at work...guess I'd better go...it takes me 3 minutes to get there and I have to find my jacket!

15 December 2008

Another non-Christmas card!

This is well...spring-ey again. hehe! I just got this stamp set...isn't it adorable?! It is a Level 2 Hostess set from Stampin' Up and I knew I had to have it!

This didn't turn out how I envisioned it. I had it in my mind with some light pinks and maybe some blues. (which is why it is colored that way..LOL!) but I ended up loving the coral in one of my patterned papers so I went ahead with that. I guess I could have colored over the flower in the image...maybe I'll do that later.

I used a sketch from I {heart} to stamp.

What I used: SU stamp and sentiment, SU CS, K&Co. PP, Memento ink, Copic markers, Versamark and clear EP, cameo coral ink for sponging on the sentiment, ribbon, perfect layers tool (for all those many layers on this card!) and my ticket corner punch.

I didn't realize until I put the picture on my computer that it has a big, giant white dog hair attached to it at the top (gift with purchase!) and a glue boogar on the sentiment. I have since removed those, but I couldn't retake the photo as we lost the light again.

Anyway, that is it from me today! I'm off to work. I'll be SO GLAD when I can take a vacation! Ugh!

Hehehe!

Here is a little fun something....I'll be back later with a card...if the lighting situation cooperates with me! It is icky and cloudy and rainy here!

14 December 2008

And now for something different...

because honestly? Seriously? I'm kind of Christmas carded out. I mean, I don't really care if I use any of the rest of my Christmassy patterned paper. Today I wanted bright! and SPRINGY! and girly!

And of course, I get what I want, right? RIGHT!!!

hehe

Life is still crazy-busy here lately! I have a bazillion things I need to do and well, I'm only one person and can only do so much...so I'm working on getting through my list! :D Then I'll have tons more time to craft and blog (and waste time on the internet playing silly games on Facebook...LOL!)

What I used: Gardenia Greenthumb image from Bella Stamps, SU CS, Basic Grey Urban Prairie PP, DCWV notecard, Prima Hydrangeas, Doodlebug brads, Stickles, Shimmerz Paints in Angel Wings, colored with Copic markers.

That is all I have for today, y'all! We just got back from the San Jose Sharks hockey game and I had wanted to post before I went to the game but ran out of time...so here I am posting it after 1AM. LOL!

Happy Sunday!

10 December 2008

Beginning to FEEL a lot more like Christmas

around here! It has been COLD COLD COLD and foggy! But it is supposed to rain later in the week so the temperatures will go up a bit...hopefully sooner than later! hehe I hate to be cold!

So anyway, I'm TRYING to use up some of my scraps and images that I've already colored and whatever I have laying already on that mess of a table! And that is what I've done here. You can't see it, but the bottom layer has a cutout taken out of it. I just layered the other scrap paper on top of that to cover out the punched hole. The strip is a scrap, too! :) The image I colored a while ago when I first got these stamps but I didn't use it. So I cut it out with my spellbinders die and then sponged around it with some Old Olive ink. Glued on some faux dew drops and it was a card! :)

What I used: Glam Girl from C.C. Designs at All That Scraps, Basic Grey PP, SU CS, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, Memento Ink, Copic markers, Old Olive ink, sponge dauber (looove! Thanks Amy R. for the suggestion!), faux dew drops. OH and my perfect layers tool.

Thanks for stopping in today! I'm working a full schedule this week so I'm pressed for time again today!

08 December 2008

Check out these....

little gems from C.C. Designs at All That Scraps! Oh my! I knew as soon as I saw these that they NEEEEEEEDED me. hehehe!

And with this card, I made 50 different holiday and winter themed cards to send out. Guess I'd better get busy on making out those envelopes!

Work and home has been sooo busy lately that I've not had time to blog or visit blogs. Sorry about that! I'm gonna make a better effort to try to get some of this stuff straightened out so that I can play with my papers AND with my blogs! :D

What I used on this card:

Gingersnaps Snow Bunnies, DCWV notecard, colored with Copic markers, SU CS, The Paper Garden metallic paper, Imaginesce PP, Melissa Frances PP, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, white gel pen. I also used a little Copic Atyou Spica glitter pen on her hearts but you can't see it that well in the photograph.

That's all, folks! Have a great week!

06 December 2008

Wintery...

I LOVE this paper from My Mind's Eye. Almost so much that I don't even want to use it. Instead, I want to plaster it on my walls so I can see it every day. LOL!

Well, since Karin sent me all those fabulous images, I've been having so much fun with coloring these. She sent me some Bellas, too! Whee!

What I useed: Bella image colored with Copic markers, Stickles, chunky glass glitter, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, corner rounder punch, slot punch, perfect layers tool, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, ribbon, SU CS, My Mind's Eye PP.

That's all I have today! Gotta get ready for the cookie swap tomorrow. :) Hope everyone is having a faboo weekend!

04 December 2008

Thursdays=Dutch Dare Card Challenge!

Whew...I'm finally finding a way to fit everything in...kinda...sorta. And that means I can get back to my Dutch Dares! I have so much fun making these little projects and working with these ladies. :)
So this week's theme was to use a scalloped edge somewhere on your card or project. Welllll....I was going to try to pass off the snow at the bottom as a scalloped-sort-of edge...but then I realized it was bare and needed a little something up in the top corner. :)

What I used: SU CS, DCWV notecard, Me and My Big Ideas PP, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Hanglar image colored with Copic markers, Melissa Frances rub-on, button, MS snowflake punch, shimmery fiber thing I found in a drawer.

So that is it! Thanks for stopping by today! Maybe sometime soon I'll be able to pick back up on my blogging. I'm SO behind on reading my blogs!

Don't forget to stop by the Dutch Dare Card Challenges blog this week to try your hand at winning that cute prize this week. ;)

03 December 2008

Lookie lookie what I got!!

I told y'all the other day that I got some fun mail! Well, PART of my fun mail were these images that Karin sent to me! Ooh y'all! Karin and I swapped some images recently and when she asked what I would like that she may have, I saw that she had some Hanglar stamps! Ooh weeee, y'all! I've only been wanting those since forEVer! I was almost in tears holding these precious pieces of paper. LOL! They're all filed away in my box to use...and use I shall!

How fun, right? They're so cute!

What I used: My swapped Hanglar image, Copic markers, white gel pen, Megabilities (i think is the name), Cuttlebug, DCWV PP, ribbon and a brad. :)

Is everyone else as BUSY BUSY as I am right now?? Oh I don't seem to be able to get anything done yet I'm constantly doing something. Argh! I love Christmas, but I think we'll need to scale back on what we do next year. Too hectic! I can't IMAGINE if we had children how unbelievably busy we'd be. I'd prolly go crazy and pull all my hair out and hide in the closet. hehe!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope the rest of your week is well. :)

02 December 2008

Yay for the digital images!!

Y'all...I love the digital images that Christine is releasing over at All That Scraps. I'm not the most fabulous stamper...I end up throwing out about 1/3 of the images that I try to stamp. I don't know WHY I have such trouble getting something to stamp. I'm stamp challenged I think. LOL!

Anyway, this is one of the new digital images that has been released last night from ATS.

What I used: SU CS, Me and My Big Ideas PP, Digital image from ATS, stickles, stick on bling'd out snowflakes, Copic markers and my MS snowflake punch.

How fun!

Oh! And I just got some fun mail yesterdaaaaaay! I'm so excited to share!

LOL! Thanks for stopping by!

01 December 2008

So yay!

I found this image in my stack of images and since I still haven't received my High Hopes stamps (I'm ever so impatient), I had to use this cute little image! I think it is from Kelly when she sent me that fabulous RAK, but it was all alone, so it could have been anyone who sent it. (I love trading images so...yeah...could have been you if you're reading this and sent it to me..hehe!) ANYway, on the High Hopes blog this week, the challenge was to use metal on your card.

What I used: Sentiment from Forest Friends-Stampin' Spot Studio at All That Scraps, Time Well Spent image, colored with Copic markers, sponged with Creamy Caramel and Adirondack Espresso, SU CS, Basic Grey PP, Metal stick on embellies and metal Making Memories brads. I put the paper piecing on the blue part but I'm not entirely sure I love it...but it is there and I'm not taking it off AGAIN. hehe

So thanks for stopping by today! I'm cleaning up my space...clearing out some MORE things. Waiting for new stuff to arrive. I have GOT to tackle this scraps pile. OH my do I have a ton of it. I'm gonna organize that into folders later and then work on some things. OH...also I get to work tonight until late. Joy. Joy. (she says sarcastically.)

Bye, y'all!

OH! And don't forget that All That Scraps is releasing some CUH-YEWT newness tonight! I won't be around for the chat in the forum because of work...so y'all have some fun without me! ~~Mwah~~

30 November 2008

Rak-ey RAK-ity RAK from Allison!

Allison from Stampin' When I Can surprised me this week with a FABULOUS stamp! So, I may have mentioned to y'all once or 70 million times that I love hockey. And well, so like...well...I'll just let you see what she sent:

Isn't it fabulous?! Isn't that a cute card? She used one of those ugly monsters that I find so disturbing on it...and the sentiment? PERFECT for me because I am soo not a people person #1 and #2 when I have to go to work at 6am and deal with whiny people at the drug dealership, I just want to bang my head in the floor until I'm unconscious. Laughing 17

Thank you, Allison, for the great RAK! Real women DO love hockey! hehe!

28 November 2008

Winter Bear - New Stamp set!

Okay, so Christine asked the 2009 DT members to help out with some of the previews for December! YAY!

This one is...OMW...so adorable! I knew as sooon as I saw it that I was gonna love it. I mean, I LOVE SNOWMEN. Like seriously, y'all! And there is even a little sentiment that says that. ACK! Totally...my kinda stamp set. :D

And boy does this one sparkle, too! After I cuttlebugg'd the blue cs, I smooshed my Versamark pad on it and used some more of that glittery embossing powder I mentioned the other day. LOVE how it turned out!

And I read on the ATS blog that they have blog candy where you could win one yourself! :)

What I used:

SU CS, DCWV PP, Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders dies, MM heart punch, Memento ink, Copic markers.

That's all I have for today! Thanks for stopping by. :)

27 November 2008

Happy Thanksgiving!

To my U.S. pals and family! :) May your turkeys be brown and your potatoes be soft, your pie sweet and your gravy un-lumpy. :D

Just wanted to pop on here to share a card that I started days and days ago but hadn't ever gotten the chance to finish! (You'll know why later tonight!)

As I had said earlier, I am loony in love with the Great Impressions stamps. This is another one that I picked up on my jaunt to my Local stamping store.

I used the sketch from Our Creative Corner because it was just beautiful and because this image I thought would be perfect for it.

What I used: Poinsettia stamp from Great Impressions, Sentiment from C.C. Designs, SU CS, Basic Grey PP, SU ribbon, Edge distresser, Memento ink, Copic markers, and Shimmerz Paints.

Speaking of Shimmerz Paints, did y'all hear that they have their OWN store now? Yup! You can order right from Shimmerz. Isn't that fantastic news?! The new store is here: ***NEW STORE*** And to celebrate the opening of the new Shimmerz store, run over to the blog where they're giving away FIVE jars to one lucky winner! Good luck! :)

Thanks for stopping in today. Happy Thursday!

24 November 2008

I finally got to play a sketch challenge!

It seems like lately I've had so little time to play with anything! Between work and planning for Thanksgiving and then planning for the Christmas decorations and everything ELSE that goes along with Christmas, I've just been a busy as a bee!

And so, after I went to the movies with my hubby today (we saw the new .007 flick...Daniel Craig? MEOW! LOL!) I made a little time to play with some paper and all the newness that I have that I haven't gotten to use!

I found a cute as a button sketch over on the High Hopes blog so I used that for my card today. I wanted to use my new High Hopes Stamps, but they aren't here yet! *crosses fingers it will be soon!* But instead, I used one of my new Sarah Kay stamps! Isn't this image so cute?! Looks just like what little boys would do in the choir! hehe!

Isn't this a fab sketch? You can use either a rectangle or an oval. I used...an oval inside a Labels 1 to make a frame. :D

What I used: Sarah Kay stamp from Stampavie, SU CS, Basic Grey PP, Martha Stewart border punch, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, paper piercer, Prima poinsettia, dew drop, Martha Stewart branch punch and Martha Stewart holly leaf punch, ribbon. Stamped and then clear embossed...then colored with Copics...a bit of Copic Atyou Spica Glitter pen on the boys' robes and around the candle glow.

That is it for today! Thanks for stopping in today. :)

New stamps released tonight!

As y'all know I'm not only on the ATS DT for 2009 (OMW, Seriously?! PINCH ME!) but I'm also the guest DT for November! This is the last stamp set I'll get to preview for y'all this month. Don't cry! It'll be okay! I have pllllllllenty more newness to share!

Anyway, tonight on ATS, the new stamp set from Amy R. is being released. Actually, I think it is two, right? The images and the sentiments? And as I have said before, I'm a TOTAL apron addict so I was soooo excited to see an apron in this new set! I just had to paper piece it. So much fun!

What I used: Amy R. stamp (released tonight!), SU CS, DCWV notecard, Bazzill CS, My Minds Eye PP, Martha Stewart punch, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope it is the best day EVer!

23 November 2008

Hehe!

New Amy R. stamps are coming Monday from All That Scraps. And this one is SO CUTE! There is soo much that can be done with these! I had so much fun making this little card. :)

Front Closed:

Front Opened:

That is all I have for today. We're busy getting things ready for Thanksgiving and bringing down the Christmas stuff. Hopefully I'll get some time tomorrow to look at some blogs. I SURE MISS reading and seeing all the fabulous creations y'all make!

~~~MWAH~~~ Kiss from me to you and yours. :D
21 November 2008
Yaaay! New stamps!
One of my favorite things!! hehe! I was sooo excited to get my mail today with my new Sarah Kay Christmas stamps! Woo Hoo is what I think I said when I saw from where the package had come! I came in, and put them on my computer desk...went into my crafting room and LOST THEM...somewhere between here and there. So frustrating! I spent at least 15 minutes searching for them. I found them, of course...they were laying on the bed that I have in the craft room. Ugh. So dumb.
Anyway, I finally got to play with it a bit. I didn't notice until I took the photograph that the yellow on the package had bled onto the blue. I'll be fixin' that! Don't you HATE that? I sure do!
What I used: Sarah Kay Christmas stamp, Bazzill CS, SU CS, DCWV notecard, M&MBI PP, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities...you know the regular stuff. hehe
Thanks for stopping by today! I'm working 6am 'til 3. Oof that makes me sooo stabby! hee!
Later, y'all!
20 November 2008
Bit of a departure...
from my "normal" of whimsical creatures and beings. This being a bit more "elegant" than I normally do. But I bought this stamp today at my local STAMPING store (along with another...LOL!) and I just had to use it.
You see, I received a card from my FAVORITE Stampin' Up gal (Hi, Gina!) and it had a lovely stamp that was used on it and it is a retired stamp set and I can't find this stamp set (for the price I want to pay) so I've been searching for a suitable replacement. Well, this one kinda fit the bill....it is bigger and it isn't quite exactly the same, but I really liked it, so it had to come home to live with me. :D
What I used: Great Impressions stamp, SU CS, DCWV notecard, Basic Grey PP, paper crimper, stamped it in black Adirondack ink, colored with Copic markers, some faux dew drops, paper piercing tool. After I colored the image, I smooshed my Versamark pad over it and then sprinkled on some iridescent embossing powder, heat embossed it and WOW is it sparkley!
I love these Great Impressions stamps. I need to do a Google search and see what other ones they have that my local STAMPING store doesn't have because all the ones they have in the store I want so I'm SUUUUURE there are MORE that I neeeeed. hehe!
Thanks for running in today!
19 November 2008
Ahh....back to my Copics...
I just feel more comfortable in these than I do watercolors. I mean, I LOVE what people can do with the watercolors, just notsomuch my own watercolors. Maybe I need to take a class. LOL
Anyway, today's card is just a card. No challenges, no special techniques, no new-ness, nothing special...just a card. :)
What I used: Whiff of Joy stamp, Copic markers, SU CS, My Minds Eye PP, twill ribbon and a wine glass charm.
Thanks for stopping by. My weekend starts tonight after work. YAHOOOOOOO! LOL
17 November 2008
So I tried watercoloring again...
And I can't say that I'm still very good at it. But I enjoyed it....though I do still prefer my Copics or even my pencils over the watercoloring.
ANYway, I used this Santa stamp...remember when I made a card with him before and how I received the image in a swap but I had NO idea where he came from? Well, Allison and Jan and a whole bunch of other folks worked and worked 'til they found who made it and I found one on ebay...of course, it had to come live with me! hehe!
And on the High Hopes blog, their challenge this week is to use buttons and brads on your card...so, I did! hehe!
So, I did a little something different with this watercoloring. So...you know those glittery watercolors that everyone (including me...LOL!) has? Well, I didn't watercolor this with those. HAHA! No, I used just my ink pads (smooshed onto an acrylic block) and some reinkers and then to put a little shimmer in my paint, I dipped the end of my paintbrush into a pot of Shimmerz paints, mixed a little water with my ink and Shimmerz paints and voila! instant shimmery watercolors! You can see it a little better in this second photo. Neato, huh? Just added enough shimmery-ness but not over the top with the Shimmerz.
Hey, I'm just trying to stretch out the dollars in case you have watercolors and a pot of Shimmerz! Now you can have Shimmery watercolors to match all your SU stuff. :D
What I used: Watercolor paper, Staz-On (stinkz-on) jet black, reinkers, ink pads, Shimmerz Paints, paint brushes, H2O (hehe), SU CS, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Making Memories PP, Making Memories brad, some buttons from my endless button jars, and a ribbon!
Thanks for stopping in today! :)
Hi there, Deer friend!
hehehe! Well, I'm looooving playing with my new stamps from All That Scraps this month. And the Forest Friends one I really love because I can create little scenes with it and use it with other stamps...like I did with this one. :)
I took my Sadie Indian from last month's release and my Forest Friends deer from this month's release to make a little scene...aww...that little deer might possibly be my favorite!
Anyway, thanks for stopping by today! Happy Monday. (or have as happy of a Monday as you possibly can...considering it is Monday and all...hehe!)
