And then the camera died...

Well, the camera didn't die. The battery ran completely out of juice. I knew that it was nearly dead because for the past few pictures I've taken, it would shut down and then I'd have to reopen the photo session on it. Anything to keep my lazy bum from having to hunt down the battery charger, right? hehe

Anyway, I made two cards to share BUT as I was taking the photos of the second, it just wouldn't work anymore. So the battery is on the charger and I'll just have to share that one later. :)

This card is a hybrid. Allison over at Stampin' When I Can had posted several days ago how to use clip art when making an image that you just didn't have a stamp for and really needed. Welllllllllllllll, I said to myself (out loud coz that's how I roll), "You have photoshop and illustrator, why don't you just make something for yourself, dummeh!" So I did!

I have always had a thing for owls ever since my grandmother embroidered me a jean shirt when I was five years old that had a sparkly (sequined) owl that covered the entire back of the shirt. It had sparkly green eyes, too! And a few years ago when my husband and I were in Kauai (on a trip that I won, thankyouverymuch) I found a spectacularly tacky and fabulous shell owl that I *HAD* to buy. I think it was like $5 or something. Wicked cheap. But anyway, I have a thing for owls and I have been seeing owls all over the blogosphere that were cute but just weren't what I wanted.

I used photoshop and illustrator to do up this cute little owl. I had purchased the original image from iStockPhoto a long, long time ago. He was originally colored all in with a busy background so I fixed that up so that he would be ready for coloring in and he'd look more handmade. I did have to leave his beak and his feet colored yellow so that they'd print.

Supplies:

Stamps: The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Eclectic Paperie's Cupcake set. The pumpkin cs is stamped with the Background Sampler for SU! (retired)

CS and papers: All papers and CS are SU! with the exception of the white which is Georgia Pacific CS.

Ink: I can't remember what black ink I grabbed when I did the sentiment. Probably Versafine.

Accessories: Photoshop, Illustrator, HP Photoprinter, Prisma pencils and OMS, Cuttlebug and Nestabilities, Cuttlebug photo corner die, Michael's shimmery Brides flowers that I colored with my Marvy Markers. Also I used my Marvy Markers to ink up the little background stamp.

This card was supposed to be for Lauren Meader's sketch this weekend but I borked it up. Well, it is the thought that counts, right? LOL!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by. I'll have a card later along with blog candy. :)
