Cupcakes!

I have had this stamp that I bought from Eclectic Paperie since forever and I have never inked it up. I know, weird, right? So I was feeling like using it and I saw Taylor VanBruggen's cupcake challenge sketch and figured that I'd just finally ink it up. :)

I failed to add my cute ribbon I chose so I just left it off. Bleh. I'm not pulling it apart just to put ribbon on it.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hey there cupcake from Eclectic Paperie

CS and papers: Unknown sourced pattern paper, chocolate chip and pink CS.

Ink: Pink and Brown Pigment inks.

Accessories: loads of dimensionals, stickles, cuttlebug and nestabilities, perfect layers.

Why am I always behind?

It seems like I'm always running to catch up on things. I don't know what happened! I used to be on top of everything and now I've just got my timing off.

Anyway, I made this card using Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge for this week. I just love these sketches because they're usually simple enough for a beginner (like me) and challenging enough for the "pros" alike. She does a great job and I really appreciate her work!

On this card there is no stamping! Even the words aren't stamped, they're a SU! rub-on. Truthfully, I'm not a stamper. I like stamping and everything but I love putting together papers more than I like stamping. Anyway, I went to Michael's yesterday to look for the new Martha Stewart border punches but ours didn't have any so I bought a butterfly punch. Our Michael's really never has anything new. I don't know why I bother going there except it is the only place to get Martha stuff.

I punched the butterflies from scraps of Cosmo Cricket papers and mounted them on kraft because the white was way too stark against the brighter papers. I used the faux stitching on the butterfly paths as well as faux stitching around the Blue Bayou strip.

SUPPLIES:

CS and papers: Blue Bayou SU!, Kraft SU!, Cosmo Cricket DP

ACCESSORIES: SU mat pack and paper piercer, SU! rub-on for the sentiment, khaki grosgrain ribbon, corner rounder punch (to make a fake word window), black and white gel pens, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, nestabilities and Cuttlebug, dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by here today! Hope you had a great weekend. :)

7 Things!

I've been tagged by Allison!

(I'm not tagging anyone but if you want to do it, please feel free to do so!)

7 Things Game

The Rules for 7 Things:

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Seven things? Really? Okay.....seven facts about me.

1. I have long toes. No really, they are long. I can pick things up with my toes.

2. I can't stand broccoli. And yes, I've tried it every way known to man. I just. can't. swallow. it. LOL!

3. I have an obsession with my vacuum cleaners. I have a Dyson that I use a few times a week and I run my Roomba in the family room every day. I want to buy a Roomba for each room of my house. (:

4. I hate fixing my hair. If my hairstyle isn't "wash and wear" then it most likely will look like a mess or if it is long, will be in a ponytail.

5. I love Hello Kitty. And Kuromi from Hello Kitty. Yes, I'm a 36 year old woman, but I still like my Hello Kitty.

6. I'm a Wii addict. I love playing my Wii even though I'm not good at some of the games.

7. I have an unnatural fear of slugs. Haa! I see one and I freeze. I don't know why...it isn't as though they're going to lunge at me and attack. Creepy things. BLEH!

Anyway, I'll be back later with some stuff. I've got some sketches I wanna try so I'll be off doing that! Later!

Birthdays!

It seems like a lot of my friends and family have birthdays around the same times. Like right now, I could 7 birthdays just this month. There are other times of the year that we have many all in a row, too. Guess I'd better get busy with the cards, eh?

Sorry for the shortness of this post, I'm gonna be late for work if I sit here much longer! Oh yeah, I CASEd this card from Debbie over at Thinking Inking. Hers is much better...LOL!

Thanks for swingin' by!

20 April 2008

As promised....

Here are the notebooks that I've been working on for the past few days. Some are finished, some have been given away, some haven't been finished yet. Aren't they stinking cute though? And so fast and easy!

I viewed the tutorials for all these on Chic n Scratch's Stampin' Academy.

Supplies I used are DCWV and SU! Summer Picnic DSP, GP White CS, embellies, ribbons, whatever I could find really! Images are from Bella and Hanna Stamps. Too bad I have to go to work tonight, I'd much prefer to sit here and make more notebooks and notepads! LOL! I guess I gotta get more funds for stamping and crafting so....work I must!

(Sorry for the photos, my camera battery needs charged and I can't find the charger! So it takes a yuckier photo...plus they were shot on my dining room table and not the best lighting conditions.)

These are all of them (that I still have left)...lots not finished...hehe!

These ones are the ones that I have that are finished....So fun! Thanks for running by my blog today! I have to make 2 cards this week and get them in the mail! One for my friend in Virginia and one for my father-in-law. Both of their birthdays are next Sunday...so I've got a few days...right? LOL

Okay, off to work for me!

19 April 2008

I did it!

I managed to cut into my SU! Summer picnic paper! LOL! I wasn't sure I had it in me to cut it so soon after receiving it...but I got some kiwis and just cut into it.

I made this card for a friend who is celebrating her birthday in a few days. I used Beate's sketch (but turned it) for this week. (WSC44)

SUPPLIES:

STAMPS: Partygirlabella

CS and papers: Summer Picnic SU!, Real Red CS, GP White CS

INK: Black StazOn

ACCESSORIES: Heidi Swapp Brads, Stickles, Prisma Pencils and OMS, SU! mat pack and paper piercer, corner rounder, perfect layers.

(I know! I promised a photo of the notebooks, but I had to make the card so the notebooks will be for later. )

18 April 2008

Do any of you have this issue?

I got my HUGE order of new paper (and other assorted goodies!) last night from SU! but today, after waiting for new paper, I'm like...ooh, I don't know what to make! What do you MEAN cut into my beautiful new Summer Picnic DSP? What?

So today will be challenging. I'm going to go force myself to cut into it. Eeee!

I've got some notebooks and memo pads to share. Of course, totally cased from someone else but they're SO cute and the girls I gave a few too just raved over them so I guess they're pretty cute! hehe!

Stop by later for some new things from me. :)

More with the Cosmo Cricket

Oh my y'all. I could eat this paper up with a spoon! It is so sweet and fabulous! LOL! I can see that they'll be a favorite company that I go to again and again. :)

Today's card was made for the sketch challenge SC170 on SCS.

I used again, some Cosmo Cricket paper that was RAK'd to me from Mary Dawn.

The stamp I used was my latest $1 Studio G stamp from Michael's. Does anyone else just adore these little $1 stamps like I do? I mean, for a buck! Eee! Fabulous!

I used my Cuttlebug and my Nestabilities and my Cuttlebug die Tiny Tags. I just love how this turned out, y'all! Maybe it is the fabulous paper or something?? I can't wait to get my hands on some more (I still have more that she sent! but I neeeeeeeeeed more of it! Different patterns and stuff. hehe!)

There has been much talk between Mary Dawn and me about finding some good quality solid cardstock and as much as it pains me to say, I am going to be ordering from Stampin Up! because they have the best colors and the best quality of paper. Now, I'm not a Stampin' Up hater or anything, but I don't really like their stamps, they aren't my style. And I just don't want to get involved with someone who is going to bug me about going to workshops and stuff...that just isn't my thing. But the lady that I have been emailing seems like a nice lady who isn't too pushy so I'll be placing an order in the next few days! Oh yeah, and I'm gonna be getting some punches and uhm, other stuff. So far my tally of the things I want is well over $175. LOL But I should be pretty well set for solid cardstock and some other various wants for a while. :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Babies...everywhere!

Is it me or have there been a lot of babies lately?

I made this card for a girl at work. I used Lauren's idea with the onesie but I made a girlie dress. I thought it was cute! There isn't a stamp one on it--mainly because I couldn't make a decision on where to put it so I just left it off. :)

I used pink cardstock--I can't remember the manufacturer. For the buttons, I used stick-on pearls. I used my Martha Stewart border punch to make some lace for the bottom & made the collar with my nestabilities and cuttlebug.

This was such a fun (and easy!) card for me to put together. I had to make an envelope because it turned out a little larger than I intended (with the addition of the bottom lace) so I had to alter a larger envelope to fit and make it match. I added one of the shimmery white flowers from Michael's on the cut-out area and then stuck on a sticky pearl.

Hope you have a great day!

Oh my! I made something!

Well, truthfully, I've been busy making things, but I just haven't shared them. I'm selfish. LOL No, I've just been really busy! So anyway, I just wanted to share this card that I made tonight.

First, let me say that it isn't a card but rather a card front but that is only because I haven't got any card bases made and I'm feeling particularly lazy and I don't want to make any right now. Besides, when I go to use the card, I can just make one then. hehe!

Okay, so this card was made with paper that my friend Mary Dawn sent me. I love it! It is from Cosmo Cricket and she bought it from the TSV on QVC. I debated on whether I should get it and now it just proves to me that I should have purchased it. Oh well, I'm sure that I'll find some other paper somewhere to help me pass the time. HAAAAAAA!

I used a bee from Stampendous on GP white cardstock with Staz-On ink. I colored him (her?) in with Prisma pencils and OMS. I used my cuttlebug (LOOOOOOVE!) and Nestabilities (LOOOOOOOVE!) to make all of the rectangles and the circles. I distressed the edges a bit and used some Distress Ink to color the edges. Then I used some cheapo sheer ribbon that I purchased from Michael's to tie on to the corner of the smaller rectangle. I secured it in back with a piece of Scotch tape. :D I mounted the two rectangles onto my card front with pop-up dots and the circles were mounted with a pop-up dot and some runner tape. Then I covered two of those shimmery flowers from Michael's bridal section with some Martha Stewart glue and then rolled them around in some of her glitter. (Does anyone else just want to pour the glue on themselves and pour glitter on them because the glitter is THAT fantastic? LOL Okay, must just be me.) Anyway, I secured the flowers to the card front with 2 Heidi swapp Retro color brads.

I like how it turned out! I love this Cosmo Cricket paper. Anyway, hope you're having a great day!
