Trying out chipboard...

I've got some...okay, maybe a leeetle more than "some" but I don't really ever use it because I'm never quite sure where to put it. I see other people using it and it looks phenomenal but...I dunno...it is just different from what I'm used to so I'm resistant. hehe

It has been a busy, busy week for me...hardly any time to stamp or really do anything fun. *pouts* Soon though...even if I have to lock myself in my room all day with a bottle of Mt. Dew, some black pepper triscuits and my crafting supplies. LOL!

What I used:

Magnolia image colored with Copic markers, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, SU CS, Basic Grey PP, CHIPBOARD!! that I colored with a copic marker, globbed some glue on and dipped it in some Martha Stewart clear glitter, ribbon, black and white gel pens.

Whew. Hope y'all have a great day! :)

Check me out....

I'm the guest designer for November at All That Scraps! Celebrating

Oooh....y'all, I'm so excited I can barely stand it! I've been bursting at the seams since I got the email! Wait 'til you see the stamps...they are DIVINE, lemme tell you! Yikes, with the fabulous-ness! Sneak peeks start November 4th, so stay tuned!

Anyway, sorry I don't have anything ATS to share today with my news, but instead something from the Pink Cat Studios. The lovely Melissa had challenged her design team to make a Christmas card using non-traditional colors. And well, I have that new Christmas Kitty stamp set that I've only used once.....so I decided to try my hand at making a non-trad colored card.

I used purple and green. I guess green is a pretty traditional color but not really when mixed with purple...right? hehe!

So anyway...this is what I did...like it? Hate it?

What I used: Pink Cat Studio stamp, DCWV glitter paper, SU CS, K&Co. PP, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, white gel pen, Memento ink, Copic markers, Stickles, Prima flowers, brad, faux dew drops and a Martha Stewart branch punch.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great week!

I'm hopeless.

I cannot pass up a cute snowman stamp! It just isn't going to happen! LOL!

Bad lighting in this photo, but I'm pressed for time tonight and the dog is barking at me to go to bed (spoiled brat!) So, I'm gonna make this short and sweet.

What I used: Scarf for Three from My Favorite Things, Memento ink, Copic markers, Shimmerz Paints (are you kidding me? how fabulously shimmery are these guys?!), Martha Stewart snowflake punch (seriously I'm so in love with this thing.), rhinestone brad, SU CS, Neenah cream colored stamping CS, DCWV mat pack stack, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Whatcha cookin'?

Me? I don't cook. LOL That is my husband's job. I can cook, I just choose not to do so. :D

But I do love and adore aprons. I have a bunch of 'em, too. Vintage ones, kitschy ones, functional ones...all sorts. I dunno why, I just collect them. I have over 100. *gasp* I know. Addict, eh.

So, when I saw this Hanna stamp set (which y'all know I love me some Hanna stamps) I knew I had to have this one.

In fact, I've gotten a way-hay lot of new rubber (and clear stamps) today in the mail. So much that I don't even know where to begin! My stamp space is covered in new stampy goodness! Can't wait to go in there and play some more!

What I used: Hanna Stamps Kiss the Cook (I think is the name but I'm too lazy to go look), GP white CS, Adirondack ink, Copic markers, Basic Grey Urban Prairie (loooooooove OMW love it so much), pink craft ink (Versamagic?), clear embossing powder, pink gingham ribbon, CM heart shaped punch, some stick on pearls, Bazzill cardstock, SU cardstock, unknown but VERY shimmery white cardstock for the base, and a Martha Stewart edge punch. I also added a bit of Spica glitter pen on her dress and shoes to make her glamah-russ.

Anyway, thanks for stopping in today! Glad you could make it. Dancing Banana

17 October 2008

I finally made the pizza box.

Okay, yes, I know it was posted aaaages ago on SCS but hey, I'm not one to follow the trends, right? LOL Nah, it was just that I didn't have time to look at the tutorial and figure it out. So, since I'm having some days off from work, I decided to go ahead and make a go at it. It was really fun to do!

What I used: C.C. Designs stamp from All That Scraps, Bazzill paper, SU CS, Shimmery White CS, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Martha Stewart bat punch, Memento ink and Copic markers. I also sponged around the "moon" with some creamy caramel ink to give it a spookier effect.

Thanks for stopping in today! Hope you're having a great weekend! I'm off to "The City" (San Francisco) to meet up with a friend who is in town today.

Dutch Dare Card Challenge time!

sim

This week was a hard one for me. No patterned paper! WHAT?!? I literally groaned when I saw the challenge. LOL I know...I'm such a baby!

I tried the whole background stamp thing..wasn't doing it for me. I tried the Cuttlebug background...not working for me! So I went ahead and tried a scene card.

I got these new stamps from All That Scraps so I decided to use those to make a Christmas scene. A very familiar to me Christmas scene. hehe

See this picture? Doesn't it strike a resemblance to the one on the card? hehe! Yes, that picture is of me. Probably Christmas 1975? My mom would know better when it was. When I saw those stamps at All That Scraps, I knew EXACTLY how I would fashion the first pair of footie jammies. Like these!

Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget to click over to the Dutch Dare Card Challenges blog to get in on this week's challenge and blog candy!

What I used: C.C. Designs stamps from All That Scraps, SU CS, Memento ink, Copic markers. I paper pieced the outfit because I wanted it to have a bit of texture so I stamped the image on Yo-Yo Yellow, put some Versamark on my Linen Background stamp and stamped over it. I also used one of my Martha Stewart leaf punches (I don't have the cute one that looks like evergreen branches, so I used what I have...heh. I just love her punches....but I still need to find that other leaf one that I don't have), Shimmerz Paints were painted over the leaves to give it a bit of gleam as well as painted over the Christmas tree ornaments, added a few baubles and stuck it all down!

How Now Brown Cow?

Meet Annabelle. Isn't she fab?! She's from a new stamp set I bought from All That Scraps. She's just the brown-est! LOL!

I did a quickie card for this one as I'm busy as a bee this week and not able to spend quality time with my stamps. hehe But I work today (Wednesday) and then I'm off work for four days. Whew. I really need it!

What I used: Annabelle, SU shimmery white, SU Close to Cocoa & Chocolate Chip. I paper pieced her with some DCWV PP and used the same paper for my PP layer. She is stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic markers and a bit of Shimmerz paints on her earrings, necklace and on the pearls in her handbag. I added a ribbon and some Prima flowers. I also added a bit of "lace" in the form of a Martha Stewart punch. For the sentiment, I stamped it with Adirondack ink and cut it out with my Word Window punch.

So, that is it! Thanks for stopping in today. Happy Wednesday! :D

Sketch Challenge!

From the Little Paper Shop blog. Have you seen their stamps? So cute! I only have one set and I keep saying, "BUY MORE, JENNIFER!" and I don't know why I don't. *insert rolling eyes here*

Anyway, the Little Paper Shop is hosting challenges for WCMD and the sketches they have are SO fab! Hope I did Julia's sketch justice with my Fluffles stamps! It called for a sentiment down in the corner, but my stamp already had one on it, so I put an embellishment there. :D

What I used: Fluffles stamp, Neenah CS, SU CS, DCWV glitter mat stack, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Memento ink, Copic markers, ribbon, Spica glitter pen, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, rhinestone gems, perfect layers tool.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge...

I haven't done one in a while and I was stuck so I did one of her fabulous sketches! :)

This was a really fun sketch!

What I used: Glam Girl from C.C. Designs at All That Scraps, SU PP, DCWV glitter mat stack, Memento ink, Copic markers, Shimmerz paints, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, DCWV glittered stickers, Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a glittery day! hehe

Not really my style...(This is long.)

or maybe it is? I love bright colors. I love adding embellishments and this and that to my cards. But I just don't like the square card. There. I said it. I hate squares. I discriminate against square cards. hehe

Anyway, on the Starving Artistsamps blog, they are calling this style the "Swedish Collage" style which if I'm reading right, they mean lots of stuff glued down to a square card. Right? So they issued a challenge...to make a card using this style and this is it. Though I LOOOVE the colors (maybe don't love green galore that much..LOL) and I love all the patterns of paper.

So, thinking along those lines of hating the square and loving all the "stuff"...I made another similary styled card in an A2 size.

I don't know that I like it better though because with the square, I can fit more stuff on the card.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by today.

What I used:

Square Card:
Mushroom Lane image from Cornish Heritage Farms, K&Co paper from the Amy Butler line, colored with copics, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folders, faux dew drops, prima flowers, SU brad, SU CS, button, and my corner rounder punch.

A2 sized card:
Lilac City Designs stamp, Neenah white CS, SU CS, K&Co. PP, ribbons, primas, eyelets, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, white gel pen, paper piercer, Stickles, a paper from a Martha Stewart paper crafting kit (I think it was supposed to have been place cards?).

Thanks for stopping by today!

28 September 2008

A skeery zampire!

Is he scary or cute? I can't decide. Okay, nevermind. I decided. He's cute! That little wrinkle on his nose is ADORABLE! I just love these little characters!

I didn't notice until I took the photo that it appears I am the queen of sticking things on crooked...I'm gonna fix that. LOL!

What I used: Spooky, Spooky, Spooky set from C.C. Designs at All That Scraps, Martha Stewart bat punch, white gel pen, Stardust glitter pen, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Prisma and Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS, Memento ink (I LOVE that I can use this ink for Copic markers and my pencils. I love it so much I may marry Memento ink and have little baby dew drops. LOL!) SU CS, K&Co PP, ribbon and an eyelet.

Thanks for stopping in today. Hope your day is fabulous!

22 September 2008

Pink-a-licious!

Pink just happens to be one of my favorite colors...ever! And snowmen just happen to be another one of my favorites ever!

Allison at Stampin' When I Can, issued a challenge to use snowmen. I'm taking that challenge. LOL! And on the Stamp Something blog, a challenge was issued to embellish. Ooh how I love embellishing things!

What I used: Baby, It's Cold Outside from My Favorite Things, Stampin' Up CS, Neenah White CS, DCWV mat glitter stack, Memento ink, Copic markers, white gel pen, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, Prima flowers, rhinestone brad, Word Window punch, Fiskars Threading water border punch, ribbon...and a generous amount of stickles!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have the best day ever! :)

OH SO SPOOKY!!!

Not really. LOL! I just adore this little spooked puppy. He makes me smile each and every time I look at him. Or even think of him! hehe Isn't he the cutest thing you've ever seen?!

What I used: Spooky, Spooky, Spooky from C.C. Designs at All That Scraps, Neenah CS, Memento Ink, Copic markers, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, K&Co mat pad, gel pen, Martha Stewart bat punch, ribbon, Word Window punch.

Thanks for spooooking by here today! Have a great week!

I'm in the Holiday mood....

Actually, I'm always in the mood for Christmas. I LOVE Christmas...so much so that I listen to Christmas music throughout the year. It just makes me happy. (I don't mean I listen to it exclusively...LOL...just occasionally.)

Anyway, Michael's is full to the brim with new holiday things including this cute little Fluffles stamp. This is my first Fluffle and let me tell you...I am HOOKED! SO cute! And so round...reminds me of my cat Teddy--VERY round and VERY mischievous. Teddy is also quite "helpful" as he likes to "help" make cards and he likes to "help" assemble things and he "helps" when I clean...he is just generally "helpful."

I used last week's sketch that was posted on the My Favorite Things forum on SCS.

What I used: Fluffles stamp from Stampendous, GP white, Memento ink, Copic markers, DCWV glitter mat pack, SU CS, and that white CS that I got from my LSS that is SO shimmery...like pearlized almost, Bazzill CS, Martha Stewart snowflake punch (I punched two, cut off a bit on two of them and layered them onto the uncut one.), Stickles, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend. :)

Dutch Dare Card Challenge time!

This week we were issued the challenge to make a card without square corners. I went back and forth on a couple of ides but ultimately just went with the rounded corners. Mainly because I wanted to use my new stamp I got today at Michael's. :D I picked up this little gem (my FAVORITE Christmas cartoon) and a Fluffles stamp from Stampendous. Okay, I picked up a few more things, too...two more Martha Stewart punches (a bat and a snowflake), some more paper, some ribbon, more Prima flowers...you know....important things. LOL

What I used: Stampabilities stamp, Memento ink, Copic markers, SU CS, Bazzil CS, Neenah White, DCWV mat glitter stack PP, ribbon from Michael's, brads, glossy accents.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the Dutch Dare Card Challenge blog for your chance to play along and win!

(Don't pay attention to the weird lines on the photo. I had to take it outside and I set it on my patio table. The light from the glass reflected up onto the card and made it look all wonky. I didn't realize this until I went to edit it and by then it was dark-ish....whew. Long story.)

Dutch Dare time!

This week at the Dutch Dare card challenge blog, we were to create a girly card. I LOVE girly!

When I sat down to make this card, I didn't really have a plan in mind, but upon finishing, I noticed that it bears a striking resemblance to the card that I made the other day for Amy's sketch challenge. WHAT A DORK! I even used the same stamp. LOL I guess I must really like that sketch or something. I mean, it IS different...sort of. They layers are different and stuff...but yeah still quite similar.

Anyway! Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget to run over by the Dutch Dare card challenge blog to take a peek at what the other girls did and to participate in the challenge. :)

What I used: Tilda stamp from Magnolia, Neenah CS, SU CS, unknown PP, Memento ink, Copic markers, Cuttlebug, nestabilities, perfect layers tool, Cuttlebug embossing folder, ribbon, MS scallop, black gel pen, stickles, Prima flower, MM rhinestone brad.

30 July 2008

Back to school time!

Or at least it will be soon here in California!

This is another Dirty Girls challenge on SCS. For those who don't know what I'm talking about (Jan..hehe!) it is a series of challenges made for the fan club members of SCS by the Dirty Dozen girls and alumni.

And on to today's card!

This is for the horrifying color combo of which I spoke yesterday. Not at all colors I would normally pick (yellow is my all-time least favorite color ever in the entire world.) I searched through my limited supply of stamps for something that wouldn't look completely out of place with these colors and then remembered I had my little Riley with the school scene! I think he works perfectly for these over-the-top colors. :)

What I used: Riley from Hanna Stamps, MFT sentiment, Memento ink, Copics, bashful blue ink for sponging, glossy accents for his eyeglasses and apple, Martha Stewart edge punch, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder, SU and Bazzil cardstocks, yellow twill ribbon and my perfect layers tool.

Thanks for stopping by! I've only got 3 more challenges to complete today and I'll have finished them ALL! Wahoo!

09 July 2008

New non-rubber stamps!

I love unmounted rubber! I love the Sarah Kay stamps from Stampavie. I wish the Sarah Kay stamps were unmounted rubber rather than clear stamps, but I'll take what I can get. :D

I was so excited to get my Sarah Kay stamps! I'm still all excited about them to be truthful. hehe They're SO fun to color and I just love all the little details and scenes. They're just fabulous.

Hope you have had a good week thus far! I've been crazy-busy at work so no stampy-fun-time for me the past few days.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

What I used: Basic Grey paper, prima flowers, Sarah Kay stamps, Cuttlebug and Nestabilities, Memento ink in brown, Copic markers (eleventy million of them), and I used some chalk to color the sky around her...y'all remember chalk, right? hehe!

04 July 2008

Happy Independence Day, America!

Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday today or at least a good Friday! :D Unfortunately I have to work tonight. BOOOO! hehe I guess I have to do something to keep up with what I spend on stuff, right?

I didn't really have a "plan" when I sat down and made this card. I just picked out some starry and stripey paper and set to making up something.

Don't forget! Today is the last day to enter for my blog candy! Enter on this post: HERE I will draw for it tonight at midnight in California and announce the winner tomorrow.

What I used: Virginia stamp from C.C. Designs that I cut with my Nestabilities and Cuttlebut. And I used the Basic Shapes from Little Paper Shop for the stars and firework. I stamped the stars on my patterned paper and cut those out then mounted them on white circle punched shapes that I sponged ink around the edges. The firework star was stamped on white and then cut out and then I added Stardust stickles. I dotted stickles around on the stars and stripes, too. I paper pieced her pants from the red starry paper and then colored the rest of her with copic markers. I used one of my Martha Stewart punches to punch the edge for added detail and cuttlebugged the red. Added a ribbon and some sponging and piercing and after I glued it all down, I was done!
