Did y'all do the VSN on SCS last weekend?

I played with some of the challenges but had a full weekend so I didn't get time to play with them all. But, one of them was to use the chalkboard technique. Which I thought was kind of a cool technique that I had never tried.

I had to have a pretty solid stamp so I chose my set from Amy R at All That Scraps called Fresh Flowers. I wanted my flowers to kind of look like a mum and I think they kind of do!  Sort of.  LOL

Stamps: Amy R. Stamps Fresh Flowers
Ink and Coloring: Versamagic ink, Chalks, ink for sponging
Paper: colored cardstock, Basic Grey patterned paper
Embellishments and Etc.: ribbon, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders die, stick on pearls, MS edge punch

Be sure to join us on the ATS forum for our release party tonight!

ATS Review Preview -- Autumn Sugarplums

Today on the ATS blog, we're reviewing these cute new Sugarplums! I just love each and every one of them and I'd love to have made a card using each one but dang it if time isn't the ENEMY of them. Chuh. There is time. RUINING ALL MY FUN. hehe!!!

So I used Mummy Trevor on my card today.  He just cracks me up!  RAWR...so scary, Trevor!  *GRIN*

I wasn't "in love" with any of the Halloween-ish paper that I have since we don't really do a lot of Halloween here at our house so I really don't buy that much.  Halloween paper I mean, goodness gravy I buy enough of every other kind of paper!  hehe  Anyway, so I found this green patterned paper and it looked pretty spooky but not spooky ENOUGH....so I added the little googly eyes poking up...heeeee!  And to make the little background behind him, I used the cracked glass technique to make it more spooooooooooooooookyyyyy!

Stamps: Mummy Trevor from All That Scraps, Amy R. Spooky Sentiment set
Ink and Coloring: Memento ink, Copic markers
Paper: C.C. Designs Copic Quality White, PP from my stash, colored cardstock
Embellishments and Etc.: googly eyes, Versamark ink, UTEE, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders die

That's it for today, folks!  Thanks for stopping by!

ATS DT Challenge

This week, Lesa challenged us to use vellum on our card. Well, I have a whole stack of vellum so I thought, NO PROBLEM! And then I hatched out an idea in my head and sat on it all day then went into my crap-ft room and discovered that yes, I have a bunch of vellum...but NO WHITE! So there went my whole idea out my head. SOOOO...I saw this image that I have from Motivet that I had already colored and it was sitting there ready to go. So I picked it up and used it!

Christine has been getting a lot of awesome new stamps in the ATS store not to mention those awesome new releases from this month...you should go check it out!

And well, because I only had colored vellum, I had to think of a way to make it work...so I used vellum for the mat on the image and I took a piece of the patterned paper, covered it in vellum and punched the border of it then curled it up a little just for some interest.

That's all I have for you today! Thanks so much for stopping in and seeing me. :) Be sure to see the other uses of vellum on the ATS blog.

Stamps: Amy R's Autumn Sentiments, Motivet-Doraline on a Pumpkin
Ink and Coloring: Memento ink, Copic markers and Prisma Pencils
Paper: C.C. Designs Copic Quality White, DCWV PP, colored cardstock, vellum
Embellishments and Etc.: ribbon, corner punch, MS edge punch, rhinestones, white gel pen.

ETA: I just realized one of my rhinestones for the corner fell off! LOL Guess I'd better go fix that on my card. hehe

Two ATS cards today...

So yeah, these I made last week but am just now getting around to posting them. I have a seriously messed up schedule this week so I'm trying to pre-schedule a couple of posts for y'all.

The first card uses the watercolor spritz technique that I found on Gina K's blog. Our DT challenge from Wednesday was to watercolor an image. And if you've been around my blog for a while, you'll know that I D-E-T-E-S-T watercoloring. Not really, I love it when OTHER people do it, but me, notsomuch. So, when I saw the challenge to watercolor, I was all...NOOOOOO! But then I saw the watercolor spritz and was all...YESSSSSS. LOL!

The second card is showcasing Diane's new set from ATS this month called Ollie and Griselda. I love all the images in this set. The owl on the back of the broom looks SO PUT OUT that he has to go along for the ride. LOL!

So anyway, that's all I have for y'all today. Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you have a fabulous day!

ATS previews!

I know I'm late on showing you two of the previews, but between work and being lazy about taking my photos, I just haven't shown them. As it were, I'm only going to show you pictures right now. If you have questions, you can email me or I may go and add the deets later. But we all know, everyone is into the pictures...so here ya' go!

This first one is from Diane's new set over at All That Scraps. Be sure to stop by the ATS blog to get in on your chance to win all these!

This second one is using one of last year's Halloween sets from Christine along with a sentiment from Amy R's new Halloween sentiment set.

The last two feature the set that the blog is previewing today. I love it for making little gifts! I used one of the packaging solutions that Christine has in the ATS shop.

Anyway, this was another card that I made for the ATS preview that I was too dumb to post. LOL

On this one, I've used Amy R's Underwater Sentiments stamps for the little saying. I have always, always loved this cute little monkey! He's from the Summertime Fun set from ATS and he was one of the first ones that I bought. I love the goofy little grin on his face!

Well, yes..huh...where have I been?

On a nice, long vacation! That's where! I went back home to Kentucky to visit family and Mary Dawn over at My Pink Mexico. If you read her blog, you'll know that she and I got to have a little fun, crafty time together! hehe!

So, since I was gone it looks like I messed up doing my review previews for ATS' June release as well as my previews for July's release. Sooo....you're gonna get them all this week.

And y'all, did you seeeeee the cuteness that Christine has put together over at ATS with the whole Autumn Stamp kit? She snuck that in...I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on that one!

So...without further adieu, I present to you one of my preview cards that I made and never got posted...I'll start with the stamp set that they are reviewing today (hehehe...cheater me!) It uses Amy R.'s new butterfly stamp set. They are so gorgeous!

What I used: SU CS, C.C. Designs Copic Quality White (did you see they have Ivory now? I have some....I'll use it soon on a card!), Amy's Butterflies, Hero Arts flowers, Doodlebug mini brad with a bead spacer, DCWV PP, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, SU ribbon, Shimmerz Paints, Amy R's birthday sentiments.

That's all for today! Sorry to take so long in posting...I just didn't want to put it out in my public blog that I was going to be away from my house for so long...I mean, I have an alarm and all, but still...security and all. hehe!

Thanks for stopping in! And thanks to Mary Dawn for taking some cool photos on the fly for me and editing them. :)

I'm ready for sand, sea and surf...

how 'bout you? LOL

Doesn't this paper and that image make you want to run down to the beach and dip your toes into the water. Though it would be a bit too chilly here in Northern California to do that..EVER. Still...makes me yearn for summer. :)

What I used: Hanglar image, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, SU CS, Creative Imaginations PP, Copic markers, white gel pen, Glossy Accents, CM wavy cutter, Amy R. sentiment from this month's release at All That Scraps...which I triple, quadruple love this set.

I sponged a bit of grey around the sea water and took my white gel pen and drew some lines and then quickly smooged it out to make it look like little whitecaps. I love how that turned out!

That's all for today, folks. Thanks for stopping by!

DT Challenge at ATS...

well, so it is late. But better late than never, right? hehe

Our challenge is to make a 3x3 box for the little 3x3 notecards. They're so cute and was fun to make even though I don't follow directions very well....which is why...mine is different than the tutorial. :D

What I used: Beach Scenery set from this month's release at All That Scraps, SU CS, GP white, Memento ink, Copic markers, Amy R. Sentiment set from this month's release at All That Scraps, Creative Imaginations PP (does this go by the parent company or the design...either way, their paper is FABOO.)

I sponged a bit around the kraft CS, the PP and the cut-out surfboard.

Stop over and see what the other girls have done! I'm so priveleged to get to work with such talented ladies! We'd love to see you participate, too...

Thanks for popping by today!

Inky Impressions 1st Design Team Call

Have y'all seen the cuteness that Nicole is putting out for new stamps (coming soon?!) Welllllllll, if you haven't you have GOT to go look at them on her blog. The first two images she's shared are named after her two daughters. All together now....awwww! And she is using deeply etched fine, fine FINE rubbah, y'all. MY FAVORITE!

Anyway, Nicole asked to share some of our coloring skills...and while I don't think mine are nearly as good as other peoples', I think these two turned out pretty darn cute...don't you?!

This first one is an Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm. I loooooove these little gals! So posh, aren't they? Wellll...so I was sitting and thinking, "Wow! That purse looks a LOT like this Louis Vuitton bag I bought for spring last year. I wonder how I can make it LV?!" Soooo...I googled Louis Vuitton wallpaper and Lo and Behold, someone had created a desktop wallpaper with that pattern. I just saved it, sized it down a bit in Photoshop and used it to paper piece her handbag. This little lovely I colored with my Copic markers and I used a VERY fitting Amy R. sentiment stamp from this month's release at All That Scraps.

And the second card that I'm sharing today is from another of this month's releases at All That Scraps...the Gingersnaps Spring Thing! stamp set. This little beauty was colored with my Prisma pencils and blended with Gamsol. Doesn't she just SCREAM SPRING?! She does for me. :D I had to mask her standing in that ding-dang puddle of rain water...right? And what good is a rain puddle without a cute fuzzy duckling? I colored my fuzzy duckling with Copic markers and then added some Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Flock. I added a little Glossy Accents on her umbrella and to the duckling's beak and feetsies.

OH! And Jan Scholl had asked a while ago how I did the coloring behind my images. Well...no, I don't have the Copic spray gun. I had one at my disposal but I was TOO CHICKEN TO TRY IT. I know...how goofy! Anyway, Jan, if you'd really like to know....I'm gonna share my secret. I use chalk. Just plain ole EK Success chalk in the bit ole patties, smear it on with a cotton puff and then if I don't like it, I erase some off with a white eraser until I get the desired effect. Easy and cheap. I mean, the chalk..not me. *wink*

And Mom? What do you MEAN do I send out my cards? You mean, I'm supposed to GIVE THESE AWAY? Chuh. AS IF. hehehe

That's all for now folks! I hope to be back later with the ATS DT challenge card on Wednesday. I've been feeling poorly with allergies and a horrible, hacking cough. AAAAAAND someone ran into me in a parking lot so I have to go get estimates to have my car repaired. AAAAAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDDDDD my practically brand new oven is borked. AGAIN. The rapair man should be here between 1 and 5 on Wednesday...which happens to be my ONLY day off this week. Lovely. Just lovely. LOL! Hopefully I'll get to it...if not Wednesday, then ya' know...another day.

Later, lovelies...sorry for talking to much. *mwah*

Review Preview...and something new!

So, every Friday, the All That Scraps DT does a review of the current month's stamp release. Today, I'm showing another one of AmyR Stamps-Friend Sentiments. This has to be one of my favorite sentiment sets so far!

I paired it with my new Miss Anya stamps from The Greeting Farm that ATS is carrying. Ooh I LOVE these cute little Anya girls!! They are super-fun to color. hehe!

What I used: Miss Anya stamp set from The Greeting Farm, Amy R. Stamps-Friend Sentiments, SU CS, Memento ink, Copic markers, DCWV PP, Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug Embossing folder, Spellbinders dies, Prima Flowers and Doodlebug brads.

That is all I have for today! Thanks for stopping by.

26 February 2009

Sneak peeks of new releases!

From none other than Amy R. at All That Scraps. Today I'm showing you a wonderful sentiment set that Amy has done for us. Friends sentiments...perfect!

I don't have a spare second here as I'm due back at work (home for lunch) but I wanted to get my card photographed (sorry for the yuckiness of the photo) and up on my blog so that you can run over to the blog and see the beautiful things the other ladies have done. I understand there is some blog candy there to be had as well. :)

I'll add the particulars later....thanks for stopping by today!

17 February 2009

Can it be SPRING ALREADY???

I'm tired to DEATH of this rain! I know, I know...California NEEDS rain...but ugh. Dirt city. The dogs are dirty..the floor is dirty from the dirty dogs...my car is dirty....my shoes are dirty. Blech!

So, to inject a little un-dirtiness into my life, I've been making some spring-gy cards and creations lately. I'm ready for bright and sunny mornings! Soon enough though...I suppose. Still, the rain makes me all pouty. hehe

OH! Before I forget, my mom has just started her foray into making cards and whatnot. You see, my mother is one crafty gal. She can sew like no tomorrow and she crochets...with the little thread stuff. I can't even lace up shoes, so I'm sure I'd be way confused over crocheting! Anyway, she's been looking at my card blog and my freinds' card blogs and she decided she wanted to play with paper, too!

Well, back in the fall, I sent her two GINORMOUSLY stuffed boxes full of paper & stamps & just all sorts of stuff. And she's been making a few things here and there. But, she's starting a blog to show off her cards and sewing and crocheting projects. Here is her blog: Granny's Apron Strings. She just has one thing she made on there now (maybe because I have failed in my promise to send her some cardstock...must order that this week!) Anyway, go say hi and encourage her. I've got a bunch more "stuff" to send, too. LOL I may have a bit of a paper and stamp buying addiction. lalala

Anyway, back to the card. What I used is a stamp from Great Impressions. Y'all. I love their stamps. They're just so pretty! I used some SU CS, SU PP, Copic markers, Shimmerz Paints, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, Prima flowers, and a brad. The sentiment is from Amy R. Stamps Warm and Cozy set from All That Scraps. (Also, let us pretend that the sentiment is stamped straight and not stamped at a slight angle...kthx. LOL!)

That is all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to show you my card for tomorrow...hehe!
