Dutch Dare #9

This week on the Dutch Dare Card Challenge blog, we were asked to use black and white and one other color.

I wanted to keep it simple. And it is pretty simple, but the cutting out of those twee butterflies was excruciatingly tedious. LOL I like it though.

What I used: I used a really sparkley white paper for the base. I don't know the origin of it, I picked it up at the stamping store and I have a ton of it..hehe. Stampin' Up CS & ribbon. Verve Visual stamps, Brilliance Graphite black ink, Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Nestabilities, gel pen, stick on pearls.

Two challenge cards!

I love doing sketch challenges! I wish I knew where to find more inspirations like these.

Anyway...this first one is for Beate's Weekly Sketch challenges. She's been doing this for 50 weekends. OMWord! I just love doing
hers because they have such great elements of design in them.

I used my Verve stamps again and I used (for the first time) the Versamark ink to make the little background on my blue paper. Eee! How fantastic is this stuff? (Sorry, I'm a brand-new stamper so this stuff THRILLS me. LOL!)

This second one here is for Taylor's Cupcake challenge. Hers are always fantastic, too and almost always have a cool little zippy thing that makes them over the top with coolness.

On this one, I used my Copics again! I've got tons and tons of practicing to do. LOL! And I used my shimmery white paper which I don't think I had ever used before now. Too cool! You can't see it in the photo but weew is it sparkley! :D

(Oh and can you tell that these colors were already out on my table so I just used them again and again until I was left with just itty bitty scraps of nothingness? LOL!)

Still not entirely pleased...

but I guess what I've done will do for now as I'm tired of trying to futz with it. LOL!

I got my new Verve Visual stamps the other day and wowza these are awesome!

Anyway, I stamped..like with ink...and didn't color. I know..it is new for me. LOL Well, it is! Anyway, here is what I don't like about this....the white part of the card is crooked. I didn't realize, of course, until I glued it to the coral part. Argh. Oh well. And I wish I had stamped the banana colored butterfly up an eency bit higher. But...I am overall pleased with it. I mean, I wouldn't be upset if someone sent this to me so I guess it is alright. LOL!

Oh! And when I was trying to photograph this? My camera was sooo not cooperating with me so in a fit of pissed-off-edness, I threw it down on my dining room table and snapped a photo. Doncha know that is the ONLY one that wasn't blurry? hah!
